Summary:
In the story of almost to freedom a family of a little girl, her mom and dad try to escape from slavery one day all the African Americans who were slaves where talking about freedom.
The next, morning the white people who were owners of the slaves’ hert that in the night they were talking about freedom and about scapeping from been slaves. The strangers took Mr. Henry away during the night Mize Rachel sits up looking at the sky. Then, lindy came and ask her mother when was he coming back then they hert a notice nine the river it was lindy’s dad with a boat they left when they got to land they found a house. A man came out and say are you slaves? The family said yes they went inside the house a woman gave them food to go to sleep. The white people told the family that they were going to sleep in the basement the white people said that the basement was the safer place in their home. In the morning they had to go work lindy had to stay alone but her mother told the white woman to stayed with lindy finally, the slaves owners were dead from the war they had know the slaves’ were free.
