Almost To Freedom-juliet

In the story of Almost to Freedom I learned that Ms.Rachel and her daughter Linda are trying to get to her dad and when they get to her dad they travel in a boat and they reach a little town and go to a store nearby. Soon the owner from the store gives them a secret room to stay in while they go to an other freedom part. After some days Mr. Henry and Ms.Rachel with there daughter Linda were in there basement and suddenly two men came down the stairs and tells them that if they wanted to go to North freedom with them and they all answered of course YES. The author had the ideas to write this book because he had gone to a Museum of International folk Art in New Mexico; SantaFe.In 1800s through 1900s there was a display of black rang dolls. Also the author wrote about many people that went to freedom and never came back to see there family. No person knew about the entire system of escaping the way Ms.Rachel and Mr. Henry with there daughter escaped. People that were caught going to freedom were returned to there master and were punished severely. Some slaves that worked for the master had reached to freedom

When I first got this book I though it was going to be boring because the picture did not look interesting. When I started to read it, it was starting to make sence it was about a girl that wanted to play basketball with some boys but she was afraid that they did not let her play with them so she put on a hat and looked like a boy. Then she asked them if she could play with them and they said yes they choused her last because she was shourt. when they started to play they did not pass the ball to her. They tould her to be defence then they pass it to a person but she got in the way and got the ball she shots at the court and makes it. Then everyone was suprised that she made it now that they saw her skills and they startedto pass it to her more often they took a break. Later someone asked her ''can you dunk'' and she did not know what it was but she acted like she knew , one of the boys tould her, she tryed to dunk it and made it but when she landed her hat fell some kids said ''No way.'' ''It cant be!'' ''Am I seeing right?'' ''that is impossible.'' ''How did she...?'' but when one boy was being nice to her

The book I read about was about jazz. Jazz was popular back then and it still is. They hear it all the time back then. I think jazz music is interesting. The intersegment that the jazz people play that I think jazz. is interesting is a piano because I like how it sounds of it .When they play jazz they us intersegment and different ones. Jazz music has a nice rhythm not like the after ones. Lots of Africans love jazz. They stared play jazz in 1800 and they are still play jazz today. That is my summary for the book

Mosquitoes Buzz in people’s ears to tell them important things about the Monkey, Iguanas,
Snakes , Lions, Owls, and much more animals. The first animal she talk about was about the iguana she tells the iguana that a tall tale that
Sets off a chain reaction that ends in a jungle disaster the iguana thinks that it is such a
Nonsense. So the iguana just blocks his two big ears. THE second animal she talk about was a monkey that monkey was so brown and cute that monkey once saw a nest with five new born babies there were five so one fell down to drink some water and the monkey just ate the bird and thought to eat the other four but he just ran as fats as he could because the mother of the children came and told the other babies what happen and they said that that mean cute monkey ate there other brothers and the mother just cried and cried and she never slept never again.

One of the effects that the story has is that one of the owlets got killed by one of the monkey that lives near by the owlets nest.The owlet got killed because it all started with a mosquito;That used to tell people many things that didin’t make any type of since to any other animal around the forest .The owlet also died because the iguana said that there was going to be some danger going on some day today.And then that’s when the monkey heard and jumped into tree and he was going to to fast that one of the branches had broke on the owlets little head.And after the mother owel had came back and that’s when she had found her baby owelet daed in her nest.After that she cried and sufferd her babies had told her what had happened and why one of her babies died.Then after it got dark it was not able to be sunlight ever again because of what the monkey had done to her baby owlet.So then she would just sit ther and cry with her babies and the dead one too.Socept then they wanted the sunlight to come out so then they figured out who it was and they told every animal who it was and the animals kept blaming one another.

One effect of this story was that the mosquito would be buzzing in people’s ears saying things that would not be true. The mosquitoes had told the iguana do you want to hear a joke and the iguana had told the mosquitoes tell me anything you want either way I’m good in anything. So then the mosquitoes had told the iguana and then the iguana did not want to hear anything so the iguana had put two sacks in his ears so he would not hear he mosquitoes voice. And the iguana was grumbling to himself that had passed by a python. And the snake went Kirk down the rabbit’s hole and home and the rabbit had gone away to somewhere else. And then the crow was crowing out loud and when the crow yells crow cue it means that danger is coming there way. And the monkey was so scared that he was jumping away and he had step on one of the branches and it had fell in one of the new born owlets head and he was already dead and the monkey did not stop for anything to look would had happen to the owlet’s the mom owlet was hunting for food for her babes. And then all the baby owlets had told him that it was the monkeys fault. And the monkey had caused a big trouble.
